Seo Kang-joon and Ahn Eun-jin take on the roles of lovers in their tenth year of dating, showcasing how they live opposite days of the week despite being closest to each other.
The KBS 2TV new Saturday mini-series "A Different Romance" (directed by Hwang Seung-gi and Lee Ga-ram, written by Yu Su-ji, produced by Unicem), which airs for the first time on September 12 (Saturday), is a realistic melodrama that resonates with the reality of a couple in their tenth year of dating confronting unfamiliar emotions within a familiar relationship.
Seo Kang-joon takes on the role of Nam-goong Ho, a deputy director at 'Hunmin Bakery' who takes care of his girlfriend attentively, while Ahn Eun-jin plays director Lee Mi-do, who refuses to let go of her dreams of filmmaking despite the harsh realities of the world.
The released stills capture Nam-goong Ho's exemplary daily life, where he commutes at a set time each day and diligently carries out his responsibilities. He waters plants, cooks his own meals, and thoughtfully takes care of Mi-do, who lives in the building across from him. As someone who finds happiness in spending ordinary days with the person he loves, kindness is evident throughout his repeated routine. The way he has loved Mi-do consistently over the past ten years is reflected in every aspect of his life.
Mi-do's day is far from a predetermined pattern. Though recognized as a film director with potential—even selected by the Florence Film Festival—she faces career obstacles in reality as her ambitious projects fall through one after another. Nevertheless, she continues to pursue her dreams through writing screenplays, and when things don't go as planned, she soothes her frustration by singing freely at karaoke.
The two, who have spent ten years "apart yet together" in facing buildings, have different life rhythms. For Nam-goong Ho, who lives a predetermined day within a stable job, happiness lies in sharing ordinary moments with the person he loves. For Mi-do, she chases her dreams in the unpredictable world of filmmaking and draws strength from a partner who consistently supports her.
Their different ways of living become a catalyst for change in their relationship. The differences that once filled each other's gaps eventually create cracks in how each of them views their own lives and love.
