Netflix variety show 'Why Are We Climbing Mountains Anyway?' has concluded the Ha-san Climbing Club's journey with unpredictable laughter until the very end.
On the 1st, '대체 등산을 왜 하는 건데?' released episodes 9 and 10, featuring four involuntary climbers—Carder Garden, DAY6's Dowoon, actress Lee Chae-min, and All Day Project's Tarzan—who have never shown interest in mountain climbing, embarking on their first winter snowy mountain expedition. The Ha-san Climbing Club's realistic mountain climbing and unexpected entertainment value combined to deliver unique enjoyment until the end.
In the released episodes, the Ha-san Climbing Club finished their final schedule in Ulsan and visited Tarzan's hometown, culminating in their final mountain climb. The four members had meals with Tarzan's family during the Lunar New Year holiday, reminisced over childhood photos and diaries, and spent a special time together. The four, who had grown close like family through their mountain climbs, created another pleasant memory with Tarzan's family.
Meanwhile, as the Ha-san Climbing Club delivered record-breaking laughter from the first game, a second recreation time came around. In the high-risk, high-return game called 'Double or Nothing,' the Ha-san Climbing Club wagered their accumulated 'km badges' and competed once again. As the four members approached their 100km achievement, their competitive spirit ignited properly, and their increasingly bold betting and unpredictable answers drew continuous laughter.

The final mountain climb then began. The Ha-san Climbing Club divided into two routes—Baekmudon and Jungsanri—and headed toward Jirisan's Cheonwangbong Peak for their final climb. With higher tension than ever upon realizing it was their final climb, Carder Garden's unexpected prowess stood out as his footsteps moved forward without hesitation, unlike usual. The two teams reunited at Jangteo-mok shelter and headed together to Cheonwangbong Peak, and finally all four members reached the summit, completing their final quest.
After completing their final mountain climb, the Ha-san Climbing Club provided their own answers to the question 'Why Are We Climbing Mountains Anyway?' Carder Garden analyzed that through five experiences, many people seem to challenge themselves, yet joked that he probably won't do it until he dies, adding laughter with his honest impressions. Dowoon recalled words from a climber he met on Hallasan and cited testing his limits as his reason for climbing. Tarzan said that climbing mountains feels like bad energy flies away, expressing that there's no place to gain such good energy like nature, while Lee Chae-min pointed to teamwork as the appeal of climbing, saying they became close and developed camaraderie from suffering together during their brief time climbing.
The film camera photos released that day captured pleasant moments of the Ha-san Climbing Club taken directly by Lee Chae-min. '대체 등산을 왜 하는 건데?' drew attention from the start with the meeting of the 'hot four'—Carder Garden, Dowoon, Lee Chae-min, and Tarzan—and delivered unpredictable fun through realistic chemistry and entertainment value.
As befits Na Young-suk's team's selection, from the four members' unfiltered honest reactions facing mountain climbing to their tight coordination built while climbing together, and their tumultuous activities in games, their contrasting charms harmonized to add joyful laughter. Furthermore, it captured vivid scenes from majestic winter snowy mountains to beautiful mountain landscapes, captivating viewers.

The involuntary climbers' climbing story '대체 등산을 왜 하는 건데?' can be watched in full only on Netflix.
