Actress An Eun-jin has announced her return to home screens with a relatable narrative that delicately unearths raw emotions she doesn't want to reveal.

KBS 2TV's new Saturday miniseries "A Different Kind of Love" (directed by Hwang Seung-gi and Lee Ga-ram │ written by Yoo Su-ji │ produced by Unichem) has confirmed its premiere on September 12. The story depicts a couple in their tenth year of dating facing unfamiliar emotions.

An Eun-jin plays Imido, who was once a promising independent film director but saw her self-esteem hit rock bottom as her projects fell through one after another. She deeply loves Namgung-ho, played by Seo Gang-joon, whom she has been dating for ten years, but constantly wanders between dreams and love due to the deficiency that reality brings.

An Eun-jin cited the reason for this choice as the drama's focus on realistic romance, love, and growth rather than a beautiful fairy tale story. She explained that it's an inner narrative that can resonate regardless of generation or era. When she first read the script, she was moved by the protagonist's situation, and thanks to that compassion, she gained the confidence that she could better empathize with and immerse herself in expressing the character.

The distinguishing factor from existing love stories lies undoubtedly in raw emotions. Rather than limiting itself to love where one makes beautiful and right choices, it meticulously unfolds the deepest feelings one absolutely doesn't want others to discover. The development that delves into hidden emotions allows the audience to seep in intimately.

To naturally convey the unique bond of long-term couples, An Eun-jin put special effort into her chemistry with Seo Gang-joon. She judged that there shouldn't be even the slightest awkwardness between them to gain credibility, so they conducted multiple group readings before filming and built friendship by getting to know each other as people.

This effort was completed in the broadcast as the natural chemistry of a ten-year couple. Initially, they had many conversations to become closer, but gradually they reached perfect synchronization without needing further explanation. She also expressed gratitude toward Seo Gang-joon, who thoughtfully considered his fellow actor on set and created an environment where she could act without hesitation.

Regarding the protagonist's inner concerns, An Eun-jin identified the cause as inferiority complex that emerged between passion for filmmaking and continued failures. She carefully refined the character by drawing parallels between the painful state of wanting to let go but being unable to because of love and her own love for acting. The key points of interest are the conflicts as she supports her partner's dreams but doesn't fully understand the deep loneliness of reality, and the process of gradually becoming exhausted as a result.

KBS 2TV's new Saturday miniseries "A Different Kind of Love," which will make viewers reflect on their own relationships and offer comfort and hope, will premiere on Saturday, September 12 at 9:20 PM. It will also be simultaneously released globally to viewers in approximately 240 countries through Amazon Prime Video.
