Kang Ha-kyung cast in tvN's "The Decision to Die"... hints at transformation into a multidimensional villain

Actor Kang Ha-kyung is taking on a new acting transformation through tvN's new drama.

tvN's new drama "The Reason I Decided to Die" (Screenplay: Kim Sol-ji│Director: Choi Jung-gyu, Kim Hee-won│Production: Studio Dragon, Media Group Take Two, Red Nine Pictures, Big Ocean Entertainment) is based on the popular Naver webtoon of the same name.

"The Reason I Decided to Die" is a destiny regression romance between Cha Gyeol (played by Lee Chae-min), who repeats his life over and over to save the person he loves, and Nam Ji-o (played by Roh Yoon-seo), who confronts fate to protect his life. His agency FN Entertainment announced that Kang Ha-kyung has confirmed her appearance in the drama.

Kang Ha-kyung will play Park Woo-jin, a character who bears all the misfortunes of the world. A character who has lived in a survival-of-the-fittest environment since childhood and will stop at nothing to achieve his goals. Kang Ha-kyung plans to portray the character's rough exterior and the complex inner world hidden beneath it in a three-dimensional manner.

Kang Ha-kyung, who has built her filmography across diverse fields including dramas "The Legend of Cook Soldier," "Lovers," "Fly, Gaecheon Dragon," films "Humint," "Streaming," and musical "Sisyphus," continues her active activities, also taking the stage in the musical "The Brothers Karamazov." Attention is focused on Kang Ha-kyung's participation, as she has established distinctive characters in every performance and medium.

tvN's new drama "The Reason I Decided to Die" featuring Kang Ha-kyung is scheduled to be released in 2027.
